Are you planning to remove the bins, drawers, and shelves in your Samsung refrigerator to clean or make space inside the fridge?
Although it sounds simple enough to do, you can’t help but feel a bit scared at the thought of doing so.
Don’t worry though because this article is here to help you carefully remove and install the bins, drawers, and shelves of your refrigerator.
Each set of instructions will be easy to follow. The best part is that you can do all of them by yourself.
How to Remove and Install Shelves in a Samsung Refrigerator
To remove the shelves from your Samsung refrigerator, first, fully open the doors to make room. Second, lift up the front of the shelf with one hand, and then carefully slide the shelf out with the other.
Repeat the steps above in reverse to properly install the shelves.
Before you proceed with removing or installing anything inside your Samsung refrigerator, you should follow these tips to make your experience easier:
- Power off your Samsung refrigerator. Not only will this save you power, but it will also make sure that your refrigerator is not overworking itself while the doors are open for long periods of time.
- Empty the respective bins, drawers, and shelves before removing any of them. This will make it easier to remove the different parts and should save you the hassle of causing any unwanted accidents.
- Be cautious in handling the different parts of the refrigerator. They are fragile when handled poorly – especially the shelves since they are made of glass.
How to Remove and Install the Bins of Your Samsung Refrigerator
The bins are fairly easy to remove and install. All you need to do is follow these steps:
- Step 1: To remove the door bin, gently push and lift it up, then pull it out from the refrigerator door.
- Step 2: To reinstall the door bin, line it up with the marked section of the refrigerator door and then carefully fit it back into place until it is secured.
How to Remove and Install the Crisper Drawers of Your Samsung Refrigerator
Removing and installing the crisper drawers is common for all Samsung refrigerators. Here are the steps for doing so:
- Step 1: Remove the door bins first to clear the way for the crisper drawers.
- Step 2: Open the drawer all the way, and then gently lift it up to pull it out and remove it.
- Step 3: To reinstall the drawer, insert it into the frame rails and slide it inward. Make sure it slides on the rails smoothly to confirm it is secured.
How to Remove and Install the Drawer Divider of Your Samsung Refrigerator
The Samsung refrigerator has a special glass shelf (drawer divider) that holds and divides the crisper drawers. Here are the instructions to remove and install it:
- Step 1: Remove the door bins and crisper drawers to clear space for the drawer divider.
- Step 2: Locate the two tabs on the sides of the drawer divider and the water filter housing. These tabs should be just behind the roller wheels.
- Step 3: Push both tabs inward and lift the shelf out from the water filter housing to dislodge it. Angle one side of the shelf downward while pulling it out of the fridge to make the process easier.
- Step 4: Carefully turn the shelf over on a clean and flat surface to begin removing the glass from the shelf’s frame.
- Step 5: Locate the retainer clips on the shelf. These look like small white squares and are found on the back left and right corners where the glass meets the white plastic.
- Step 6: Turn the shelf over again to see the back of the clips. Each clip has two tabs holding it in place.
- Step 7: Push the tabs into the center to dislodge the clip from the frame. Do this for both clips and the frame of the shelf should come loose from the glass.
- Step 8: Gently raise the shelf. This should allow you to separate the frame from the glass.
- Step 9: To reinstall the drawer divider, repeat the steps above in reverse.

- Step 1: Fully open the refrigerator’s freezer drawer.
- Step 2: Gently lift the upper basket up.
